According to information from the Mayo Clinic, uterine fibroids are growths of varying sizes which can occur in a woman's uterus. Uterine fibroids can trigger symptoms such as heavy bleeding, localized pain, frequent urination and constipation, along with possible reproductive complications down the line. A number of proven medical treatments exist for fibroids. One alternative treatment is adherence to a lemonade diet, or "Master Cleanse."
Lemonade Diet
The lemonade diet, otherwise known as the Master Cleanse, is a partial fasting detoxification diet designed to cleanse your body of accumulated toxins, thereby removing the source of a number of diseases. During the period of the cleanse, which can last anywhere from a few days to a couple of weeks, consume nothing but fresh-squeezed lemonade mixed with maple syrup and pepper. This is said to provide your body with the calories it needs to avoid starving while allowing your body the time it needs to purge itself of toxins. Also drink a salt-water flush in the morning or at night during each day of the program to help stimulate bowel movements that rid your body of waste.
Program Specifics
Prepare your lemonade mixture fresh each morning. Mix 14 tablespoons of fresh lemon juice with an equal amount of organic maple syrup in 2 liters of water, adding in as much cayenne pepper as you can stomach. Your goal is to consume the entire mixture by the conclusion of the day. Beyond the lemonade, you are also permitted to consume as much water as you desire. At the beginning or end of each day, perform a salt-water flush by mixing 1 tablespoon of sea salt with 1 liter of water, drinking the entire mixture and waiting. You will have a bowel movement within a half hour to an hour, so do not make any immediate plans for the time period following the flush. Perform the cleanse for a designated period (one week is a good length of time for a first-time user) or until your body feels fully cleansed of toxins.
Warnings
Please note that while there are anecdotal reports of this dietary approach being beneficial for individuals with uterine fibroids, there are no published studies as to its effectiveness as a treatment for this condition. Thus, if you choose to pursue the lemonade diet as a treatment method for your fibroids, do so with the informed consent of your physician. Do not abandon a medically proven course of action for the treatment of uterine fibroids to rely solely on the lemonade diet, but use the diet in conjunction with other conventional treatments for the best chance of positively affecting your condition.
