A diet for ulcers isn't that complicated and is easy to implement. That is, if you really want to avoid the pain of an aggravated ulcer.     When you eat a diet for ulcers the first thing you need to avoid are foods and drinks that are acidic. Also, caffeine, alcohol, smoking and all foods that create heartburn should be eliminated at least until the ulcer heals. The reactions to these products tend to delay the healing of stomach ulcers.

    Eat small frequent meals instead of three large ones. While on a diet for ulcers you need to make sure the stomach always has food, but not much of it. In other words, you never overeat or starve yourself you instead keep the stomach in balance.

    Add high fiber natural foods to your diet for ulcers as well as antioxidants. These are the types of foods that will help reduce symptoms of stomach ulcers and keep the digestive tract running smoothly. While foods that are highly processed and high in fat and sugar tend to worsen the condition.

    Add healthy proteins that contain omega-3 fatty acids found in oily fish such as herring, salmon, sardines, tuna, cod and mackerel. Some other foods with omega-3 are legumes, walnuts, butter nuts, flax seeds and flax seed oil, cereals, grains and pasta to name a few of the highest.

    Lastly, while a diet for ulcers is very important there is yet another factor that contributes to stomach ulcers and that is stress. Stress does not cause ulcers, but it does aggravate them. So, the best thing you can do if you have stomach ulcers is find ways to relax and stay calm.
